The room is very big and actually has two desks. We had two queen beds and they were comfortable. the bathroom had marble counters and a really nice shower with a rain shower head and several vertical jets as well.
This hotel is very close to the airport but not to anything else. They have a restaurant on site but there are no other places to eat in the area - not even a Tim Hortons!
In the room I could hear footsteps and showers from other rooms. This want a problem for us since we are all sound sleepers but it might bother other people.

I know that some people may not be reading this as my idiot brother told everyone that the blog that he did was the last blog, well (as usual) he was wrong. This is the last blog. So we woke up early (well, 10:00 is early to me) to have breakfast and finish some last minute packing.
We then checked out from our AMAZING hotel/resort Douglas Firs. We were all sad to leave. Shortly following this we drove to Calgary and headed to the site that the 1988 Winter Olympics ...
... I was dreading and wondered whether I might actually conquer my fear. The Enmax Conservatory. Yeah, you guessed it, butterfly enclosure!!! It actually makes me feel funny typing it. I had said to Phil that I would try my best to go in and he said he would be so proud of me if I did, as he knows how scared I get. Well, we walked through the door and the ...
As it says, nothing of real interest ... just a long boring drive down to Calgary so I can catch a plane back to Toronto.
Went the direct route this time, not via Dinosaur Central as on the way up.
Lots of miles and miles of miles and miles. In kilometers.
... after such a long time and still be on the same journey. Weird, but kind of cool as well ;) The connecting flight to Calgary was operated by Air Canada. They donīt offer any food for free, but there was an individual entertainment programm and so I could catch up on some movies. Also on the flight NYC-Ottawa I was on the smallest plane ever - a bombardier. It had only twelve rows and two seats on each side, so 24 seats in total. ...
... such isolation and climbing the canyon walls is an almost daily occurrence for them. One of the more "interesting" experiences occurred at a rest stop along the trail where a local entrepreneur capitalized on tourists' fascination with local cuisine. For a mere 22 soles, you could pick out your own "cuy" (guinea pig) for dinner that night and let's just say get the full experience! Now I'm an adventurous type I like to think but I discovered my limits at this stop. ...
