      Near Airport

The room is very big and actually has two desks. We had two queen beds and they were comfortable. the bathroom had marble counters and a really nice shower with a rain shower head and several vertical jets as well.

This hotel is very close to the airport but not to anything else. They have a restaurant on site but there are no other places to eat in the area - not even a Tim Hortons!

In the room I could hear footsteps and showers from other rooms. This want a problem for us since we are all sound sleepers but it might bother other people.

... at 50% off" could not have been better that day….

Ah well - packing can always wait until the next day.

Which brings us to just that…the NEXT day. While I was at the kitchen counter, trying to decide on what exactly was left for me to do on the planning stage of our trip, the kids decided to postpone breakfast until oohhh…say 10:45am. Stinky children required a bath and after ...

... regarding the standards required for each class of licence and the standard an individual has to display to obtain a licence, but the administration of this is undertaken by numerous registered licencing agents. It is kind of semi-privatised. I was really worried about getting ripped off by this because there was not a set price schedule on the Service Alberta website, meaning these private operators could set their own prices. I investigated on the internet ...

      Pelicans in Saskatchewan??

... An interesting result of having salt lakes in southern Saskatchewan - they have shore birds! They have seagulls, pelicans, piping plovers, avocets, sandpipers, curlews, and many more. They feed on the only creature that can live in that salty water - brine shrimp. Actually, the pelicans prefer some lakes a little farther west that aren't as salty and have minnow-like fish swimming in them, but they occasionally go visit Chaplain ...

... interesting. I have been trying to mix it up a bit so that I am not just stopping at the big shiney places attached to a Timmies--though those are very welcomed when you haven't seen anyone for a few hours. Saskatchewan did not disappoint in the gas station culture.

Apparently I mixed my references yesterday when I felt I had arrived at Corner Gas and Bubbles was in the corner. To clarify, it really did ...

Went ice skating today at the Olympic oval at the university of Calgary The 400m track is the fastest ice in the world with the world championships being held here the week before, the lap record of 33 seconds was never really in doubt when we took to the ice with me looking more like a rhino on ice than an ice ...
