Victoria, im südosten auf vancouver island, wirkt auf den ersten blick wie eine grosstadt, ist aber keine. so konnte ich mein laufpensum etwas drosseln und stattdessen meine aufenthaltszeit in den bars etwas erhöhen. wollte eigentlich nur 3 tage bleiben, daraus wurden schlussendlich 6.<br><br>im ocean island backpacker gibt's 'ne supercoole bar, die auch sehr günstig thai curry serviert. dieses hatte ich schnell mal zu meinem gesunden und erschwinglichen standard-menu erkoren ...

... To finish up the dining scene, we did do lunch at the Irish pub. Pizza was great, atmosphere was fun, and beer was tasty. Dinner was at the Sandbar Wharf. The Crab legs were expensive, but well worth it. Our server kept us laughing the whole time. It was a wonderful experience. Most of their tables overlook the harbor. The gardens (which are 100 years old this year) were indeed beautiful and very colourful - we were able to enjoy them more as the forecast rain seemed to hold off a long time. We grabbed our bags and jumped back on the local bus to Victoria. We'd pinpointed a motel a little bit out of town for tonight and headed there. Walking in toward the city centre we saw a place even closer and even cheaper than where we were so we made our minds up to move tomorrow ...
