... we arrived in Bratislava in a non description crumbling station. We decided to walk to our hotel- we had rested for a few hours on the train. It took about 1/2 hour, during which time we were asked for directions by an older couple in a car. Does that mean that Jim or I look Slovak? We found our hotel with little problem, as we'd done a little research ahead of time and mapped it out with the help of our guidebook. Luckily we were able to check in early (around 1pm)- the hotel ...

... out of the bus depot to a somewhat shady area where the 'big yellow bus' picks you up.

And quickly our 'big yellow bus' showed up, turning out to be a luxurious ride, with plush seats and a variety of music, something we not heard in a long time, something we are definitely craving for home !

However, we must announce another causality of Budapest, we have lost the lovely Android Tablet, who depending on who you ask (Tom) will not be missed, but Laura ...

Budapest baths

... Shareen's turn to organise and book the accommodation, so we will see how she did.

We found out two bad things about the train. 1. It was going on an extremely round about route (almost back to Vienna where we came from !) and 2. Despite being told it was a private sleeper we were sharing the 6-berth cabin with three others. As it happened they joined us after midnight in Bratislava, and were no drama at all. In fact we probably annoyed them more, getting off at ...
