Hughs Birthday Road Trip through Deeside

A travel blog entry by joandhughpalmer

I am obsessed with a new IPhone ap called Groupon that sells bargain trips away and managed to find a cute one for Hughs birthday in Pitlochry (yes we are a little obsessed with Pitlochry too!).

My day started a little earlier with a trip to Fyvie Castle which is about 20 mins from Inverurie. Colin, who of the guys who plays footy with …

... did they put a **** load of horseradish in the mix? nope. it was all b/c I had asked for mustard as who can have a tuna melt without it? smeared it on before testing. mustard here is different. very very different. lesson learned. test everything first.

epic walk today. clocked in around 10 miles as we opted out the first three and a half of straight pavement. no thanks.

up the mountain (may actually be a hill but I'll refer to what it feels like) to see the falls of Acharn which really weren't falling due to low water levels. got caught in a brief rain shower but overall a pretty dry day of walking.
