... market full of places to eat and before we'd even stepped out the car hordes of people waving menus and brochures for trips in Acapulco descended on us. Kindly declining all of the offers for burritos, eggs and gringo food, we walked around the market to a small restaurant that I'd noticed when we drove past; it had pink and yellow flower tablecloths that caught my eye. The waitress brought over the menus and we realised that the girls working there were ...

... staying in! The beach, said to be one of the nicest in Mexico, definitely didn't rate that highly for us. Not only is there so much rubbish down where we were staying, but you can't relax without a hawker hassling you to buy the ****** souvenirs every minute. It gets old pretty quickly! There are really 2 sides to Acapulco - Antiguo and Nuevo. Antiguo is the old city, where it used to be the hot international destination. But as it started to get overcrowded with the riff-raff (backpackers and tourists like me), the elites moved elsewhere. They moved down the bay and built it up to a degree that you ...

    Sailing down the Mexico Coast

A travel blog entry by cazzah on Apr 18, 2014

Today we spent the day sailing down the coast of Mexico. From our map, we are off the coast of Acapulco. No port stops today as we are heading to Guatamala, which takes two nights and two days sailing to arrive. The waters are very calm and the sailing very smooth. We are both very relaxed and Johnny is enjoying the variety of foods on board.
