Got a ride down from a nice Canadian family, ha. Then, more adventure awaited me. I booked a sailing cruise- that's right... I went ...

Unfortunately time to hit the road again after a brief visit to Wellington. Next stop Tongariro National Park home of Mt Ruapehu, Mt Tongariro and Mt Ngauruhoe (or for those who prefer an easier to pronounce name AND a popular culture reference... Mount Doom.) Our campsite for the night was in the Okahune a smallish town which exists primarily for the ski season and hence had a out of season feel about it. The journey was fairly wild and wet ...

... homemade soup and salad dinner, a lay-around in the bramble bushes (D accidentally fell in the blackberry bushes surrounding our campsite when he went out behind the MH after dark; it actually took everything I had to pull him out, and he was covered in pokes and scratches from head to foot!), and a catch-up time with the blogs. A pretty easy-livin' kind of day!
