... enough energy to power 15% of New Zealand (I guess if they needed to). Something like 200,000 liters of water go through these falls every second. It was a nice walk to the falls beside the river that has a super strong current and past a few hot pools (but we were too hot to go in them!). We have to be at base at 9am ready for our sky dive so we get up and have a quick breakfast. We manage to have enough time so head to Huka falls to take a long at the seriously impressive water fall here. There is so much water and it runs so fast, 200,000 litres a second I believe it was that past through. It is so power fall that it means that fish that go upstream can not get any further so there are no ears in Lake Taupo as they can not ...

... late 1970s by a guy marking his completion of Maori carving training. That dampened some of our enthusiasm, but we still wanted to take the cruise. The campervan had different ideas.

About an hour south of Lake Taupo, we heard a pop. We thought something had fallen inside the van, which was a pretty common occurrence. A couple minutes later, the oil light came on. I assumed it was a repeat of the problem we had when we first picked up the van. Luckily we ...
