      ... time there and we left for a "family" dinner at an Italian restaurant to end our long cold day in Stockholm.

      Sunday- Our excursions were shorter this day because our flight was in the evening and we honestly felt we had seen everything Stockholm had to offer. We ventured back to Old Town and the group split up, some continued to walk around, I with two others went to a cafe and then the Nobel Prize museum.       ... to ship home, except for a couple of Russian classics: a replica Faberge egg and a Russian nesting doll. After the frosty reception in that country, along with the political changes that seem to be underway, we are not likely to return anytime soon, so I'm glad we have something unique from there. But collecting something from every country we visit - a vague plan we had discussed prior to leaving - is not happening.

      ... especially in the back, which were originally painted in bright colors. On the back wall is a copy of the back, reconstructed and painted to show what it would have looked like originally. The ropes and sails are new, but actually a big chunk of original sail is displayed in a glass case on one of the walls. The cannons are still in their original positions, aimed out of the cannon holes with ornately decorated doors propped up. I kept thinking that my dad would love to see this ...
