... s devastating Hurricane Manuel, so tourism (the main industry) has hit an all-time low. The lack of other foreign tourists in the area made us easy targets for determined salespeople and long stares. ... internet cafe and stayed there for about five hours before going for a bit of a walk along the malecon, noticing the police presence was pretty ridiculous (I mean do you really need a Machine Gun and a Pistol just to open a door in McDonalds? Seems really over the top, and makes you feel slightly uneasy). But anyway found a nice scenic and romantic spot over sunset for myself and my ice cream. Seeing as I was expecting a big night, then decided to start on the beers a little ...
