Acapulco. Once one of the world's most famous and popular resort destinations, the pretty coastal city is now mainly only visited by vacationing Mexican families (and, apparently, us). Acapulco has seen its share of gruesome gang violence in recent years, and as with many other places in the country, there are regular government protests happening in the streets. Sailing down the Mexico Coast

Today we spent the day sailing down the coast of Mexico. From our map, we are off the coast of Acapulco. No port stops today as we are heading to Guatamala, which takes two nights and two days sailing to arrive. The waters are very calm and the sailing very smooth. We are both very relaxed and Johnny is enjoying the variety of foods on board.

The restaurant is out of the way but the textures and flavors were really amazing. The restaurant itself was situated in a warehouse type building with local bands and music. Someone quoted that this looks like a Salma Hayek ...

... In Mexico, they have shops called Oxxo’s (basically the same as Tesco Expresses or 7-11’s). In Acapulco, they officially have the most in the country per area – having over 200. So basically I went on a bit of an Oxxo Bar Crawl along the Malecon, as I walked the entire 12km drinking bottles of Indio and Corona. By the time I’d reached the end, probably will have had about 7, but still didn’t know what the plan was for later, so made my way to a place ...
