... de Mer is a spectacular palm that grows to a height of 82 to 112 feet. It is fan-shaped with leaves 23 to 33 feet long and 15 feet wide, and its stems are 13 feet long. The largest double nut recorded weighed 93 pounds. There are male and female trees.

We got into the swing of driving on the left side although Susan was constantly warning we were too close to the edge which was frequently a two foot deep cinder block water ditch. The park is in the middle ...

      Praslin, Seychelles

This was sadly our last day of diving in the Seychelles. The restaurant where they serve breakfast at the Berjaya Praslin is open air. Signs say: “Please don’t feed the birds”! The food, well I think I spoke about Remo's Italian specialties but also Nicoletta who was outstanding, professional and caring. We felt like family and I am sure we will see them again one ...

It was a nice dive but I had some problems with my regulator and lost 50 bars of air just before descending so I only had 150 instead of 200 bars of air. I still was able to stay down for 49 minutes because it wasn't a deep dive. (12metres-39 feet) We saw a giant sting ray, a white tipped shark, ...

... exam - the last of the exams, thank goodness! Thursday was one of the lad's 20th birthday (I feel so old!!!). We had a resident rat in our hut last night which I thought I would freak out about, but I was strangely OK with it, except when I heard it rustling around near my bed. It helped when one of the girls said 'think of it as a hamster!'. Apparently it's quite cute, but I'll reserve judgement until I come face to face with it. Today the group ...
