... provide a basic description of the exhibits in each room.
After we all met up at the end of the Egyptian section, we set out to find the Mona Lisa. Along the way we discovered some of the amazing and huge religious pictures and a lot of classical Roman sculptures. We found ourselves in the African and Asian art exhibits when searching for the exit.
We were all tired after the Louvre and so we stopped for dinner at the food ...
I must admit that I did not prepare any notes for Paris. I assumed that I would be meeting my friends Xiulan n later Huiyu who would bring me around, reliving me of any homework and stress. So I got stuck at the metro station for a while, wondering how to proceed and where to go. Luckily I was able to understand rudimentary French to know what was going on around me and to purchase train tickets. Then Xiulan's sms came at the right time to provide the ...
Huelga masiva pasa ...
Paris, Île-de-France, France mr2niet... against this trip - airline miles, credit card point credits, you name it. Usually we do very budget travel, but I had specifically planned this trip to not be budget-like. Overall, this plan almost worked to offset expenses (dining was way more expensive - story to that effect in another post). One thing about this Paris Hilton: it's full of Americans. I'm so not joking. Rude ones, at that. An example; the espresso machine was out of milk, and ...
Paris, Île-de-France, France secrex... it home that day. Karla had originally planned on having a layover in New York for a couple days to see friends but she was as road worn and tired as I was so she stayed the night in Cleveland and came in the next day. It was good to be in my own bed again. Driving down the streets I saw that little had changed in my hometown. I don't know why I would expect it to, I guess I had seen so much and been so many places that it seemed a lot longer. Reflection - In the last 90 ...
Paris, Île-de-France, France tbassplayer... studied French and classical sculpture, although I took a trip to see my favourite Louvre resident, Fra Angelico's Calvary fresco. The Louvre is such massive place and so invested in the Parisian landscape, you kind of disassociate it with the nationality of the art - for a place so uniquely French, it doesn't contain millons of French things, although that isn't necessarily a bad thing - see the British Museum. In the afternoon, I visited the ...
Paris, France jayne2008... just thinks she has picked up some kind of virus. So needless to say, I spent most of a beautiful day and evening in a hospital. I guess that is ok since I AM technically here to work, right! We had also thought about going to the movies to see Ocean's 13, but by the time we got back from the hospital we were too tired. I guess I should get to bed early and save my energy for tomorrow--Bastille Day!
Paris, France becca_boo... to catch our flight to Chicago. This is the shabbier old airport- cramped and they are in the midst of renovation. Cleared the fussy US checking in process. Then we waited took like the longest travelator in the world to reach the satelite gate. Waited in the worng area then realised that we were the last few to board. Then we waited on the plane for about 30 ...
Paris, France gav.emToday I had to get up earlier than the ********* of dawn to go to La Sorbonne in order to sit through a list of placements for a class I'm not taking. It was ok though, because La Sorbonne is absolutely amazingly gorgeous. So I took some pictures, nodded off several times as they were calling off names, and then left to go back to my room and take a nap. After the name, I thought I was supposed to meet someone back at ...
Paris, France smanky... br>
(See, I told you the punch lines would be more refined. Not actually funny mind you, but definitely more refined.)
Once back outside I joined the slow moving line to climb the steps to the cathedral towers. Eventually I was up there with the gargoyles looking down on the multitudes in the square and on the hunt for a certain hunchback in the bell tower. The only one I found was me, stooped over so I didn’t bash my head on the wooden beams.
I only had ...
