... Surrounded by the intricate cake like laciness of marble sculpture we walked across the rooftops between the turrets. We took many more photos. After realising that time was now getting short we then rushed down to the stairs, caught the metro back the 4 stops to the Hotel Maddison and walked to 300m to the train station - that's why we booked accommodation close to the station! We made the train with 20 mins to spare so we bought a snack boarded and we were on our way to ...

We had decided to take the Ferry up to another village on the lakeside, but actually arrived at the Quay in time for an earlier ferry. So we ended up catching the 9:10 ferry to Urio. We had planned a stop in Modena for lunch, but unable to easily find somewhere nice, we finally ended up in a ...

... else you risk missing some important information, although if travelling to Milan, it's less important as the train terminates then does the return journey to Paris. Our experience on TGV was less enjoyable than Eurostar, but this has more to do with the personalised service we received on Eurostar, which is not provided on TGV. That said, the scenery on TGV is magnificent. It's a slow trip from the outskirts of Milan to Porta Garibaldi station, as we fit in with ...

... had a hour or so stopover in Vienna where the only place we could sit down was in a glass room in-between platforms. Made for an interesting stopover, we did see an old school steam engine train though that was pretty fun, we hoped it was our train but it wasn't. :(

Again once in Milan we caught a taxi to our hotel, we had booked a hostel but it had a fire a couple of weeks before we left so we were upgraded to this hotel. It was a family run hotel typical ...
