    ... places to eat. Lucy was hungry again. Oh dear. Luckily we didn't stop at one of the restaurants along the canal and walked further where we stumbled upon a large open air market.     ... for a little bit and then went on a relaxing gondola ride for 20 Euro. We ended the day at Doge's Palace and saw something amazing around every corner. We could have easily spent more time there, as Doge's Palace was the seat of the government of Venice for centuries. Every room has a lot of history, so I would have liked to have taken my time walking through. The day just got away from us though. There are apparently underground jails as well, but one ...

    ... hundreds of vineyards and corn crops ..with terrific mountains in view. Arrived on the dot in Milan where the four of us and all our luggage piled into a taxi only to go around the block to our hotel. It is really nice, huge room,, and I can see the side of the station from our window!!
    Looking forward to exploring tomorrow.

    ... out and spend the day at Lake Como. The drive on the highway was eventful. Arrive in Como and parking appears to be scarce so I decide that Bellagio sounds nice and it's only thirty kilometres further along the lake. We set the GPS and follow the instructions and road signs. Now, Lake Como looks to be a glacial remnant lake in the bottom of a deep valley surrounded by steep hills.
