Trains from 9am-5pm to get to the other side of Germany. Loooong trip via Frankfurt and Cologne, but it was very interesting to see the countryside. It was Beautiful through the Rhine Valley. ... single carriageway roads. Finally, we got to Colditz! I reckon we lost an hour with all the satnav problems, but that still gave us time for a reasonable visit to the Schloss Colditz. Grandpa was very pleased we managed to squeeze this visit in.

Colditz Castle was rather understated really, a reasonable musuem but not a lot of detail and it could have been brought to life a bit more.

... one in which I was disappointed. I purchased some Zuckermais (sweet corn) at the grocery. It was pre-packaged, shucked corn-on-the-cob that was ready to prepare. I boiled it as I would at home and found it to not be particularly soft-textured and it also lacked any real flavor—not sweet by any means.
