Ich hoffe, ihr hattet alle einen guten Rutsch ins neue Jahr- mit einem Prachtsfeuerwerk der verschiedenen Städte?!

Meinen Silvester verbrachte ich mit der Gastfamilie von Maria in Riobamba. Eine Stadt, südlich von Quito gelegen. Bevor wir aber alle am Samstag ins Auto steigen konnten, gab es noch einiges zu erledigen.

So war zuerst der Besuch auf einem riesigen Kleidermarkt angesagt, da ich für den Abend noch ...

... Feliz navidad“ einstudierte. Ich fragte bereits Mitte November, welche Lieder wir für die Festlichkeiten gebraucht werden, damit ich diese für mich und später auch den Kindern lernen kann. Doch wirklich „ernstgenommen“ wurde ich erst, als nur noch 5 Tage bis zum Auftritt blieben… Da ich ein verlängertes Wochenende (Cuenca) in Anspruch nahm, musste Maria noch einen Teil mit den Kindern übernehmen.

Die Aufführung im Collegio Suiza war gut, ...

... waterfall and it's setting were beautiful!
When we had hiked back to the top, there was a little local truck were we could put the bikes in the back and who took us back to Baños. The 20km there was enough biking for one day!

Although there was an active volcano quite near and again we didn't have one completely dry day while we were in Baños, we've really enjoyed it! Let's hope we enjoy the big city of Quito just as much...
