Mahires to Aghir
Day 9 & 10
The following morning we headed towards Djerba, a tourist island near the Libyan border. The roads were good, and after a short ferry trip costing only 0.800 TD (Less than R5) for all of us plus Corrie, we arrive on the island around midday. We found a little place on the beach were a room for 4 was only 4TD more than camping, so we stayed there for two days, within 20m of the sea. ...

It was just a small field mouse!!
The island was pleasant, but I must admit, it would be far better ...

In Djerba we visited a functioning synagogue as well as the medina area of Houmt Souk, Djerba's main market town. . The medina was very quaint in appearance with many of the locals wearing traditional dress.
