... a old balinese village, a temple, a coffee plantation, a palace and a water garden. This was in addition to all the stops we made on the drives between these places. I dare say, we got to see the real Bali today. The green rice fields with the backdrop of volcanos and mountains. The houses, with red tile roofs, interspersed here and there. Banana and coconut trees everywhere. Cows, cocks and monkeys (yes, monkeys) here and there. It was almost magical! I have no doubt I made ...

... expensive coffee! We were sat down and given 12 taster coffees, teas and cocoas and Adam bought 1 cup of the Luwak coffee (since it's coffee that's been digested by the Luwak I politely declined to try any lol! Anyone that knows me know I am not a tea or coffee drinker but I tasted each one ...

One of the top things to do here was the water park called Water Bomb. Sounded like good fun and ...

... He also said it was pretty brutal. At one stage all the men (because it's only men who partake) had to quickly get out of the way as the roosters came flying towards them, armed with curved razors tied to their feet. The losers are tossed to one side to die and then the legs are cut off. He wasn't sure who got the legs and for what reason. Anyway back to the snorkelling. We headed out and asked Wayan where we were going and he ...

... Before this second stay, we had met on Juli's first night in a lovely hotel, hidden away from the bustle of the Main Street. Under my dictation we awoke early and rented a car from the second most-recommended and probably second most-dodgy-looking rental shop we could find. Feeling powerful in our plastic Suzuki Karimun we headed off to find somewhere that I didn't get the shivers. We drove North to Ubud, and following our tact of booking hidden ...
