    ... the oldest hotel in Wales, the Skirred Hotel, as many trials were held in the hotel by the local magistrate the hotel has the reputation of having 147 people hanged either outside or inside if it was raining. Our next call was the ruins of Llanthony Priory, once occupied by Benedictan monks. The final stop before heading back to our hotel was at Hay On Wye which is famous for the number of book shops that are in the town.
