    Jamming with Gramps

A travel blog entry by oliver2004 on Sep 08, 2014

Mum and I went for a walk in the morning by the river Dee. It is right next to Grandmas house. We saw blackberries (yum), dogs and birds. there was a man standing in the river fishing. We found a horse chestnut tree and collected conkers that had fallen on the ground. Mum said they were quite small because it's still to early for the best conkers.
We met Gramps in the Old Town. ...

We took Sarah and Alice to the airport in the morning. I felt a bit homesick when I posted Dad his card. I miss him. We had a drink and then headed to the seaside. We went to the amusement park with Debbie, a friend of mum's from when she was little. We played adventure golf. I lost my ball ....twice, and lost the game.
Later that day i played football with Stan, grandma's neighbour, and his little dog ...

After all the late nights in Edinburgh, and not sleeping well in London, I think that this was probably our best night yet. Woke about 0600, looked out the window to a thick fog, and the sound of the ship's foghorn. While Lyndall had a cup of tea in the cabin, I went upstairs to the Magnus lounge for a light breakfast, following which we ...

... plan and he saves up moneys, then I should see him over here.

Once I had finished the call, I did something I never thought I would do.

    I cried.

I didn't think talking to him would have triggered that off, but it did. And Katie, being the gem she is, walked out of watching Pirates of the Caribbean with her boyfriend to come and talk to me.

I am surrounded by awesome people, from as close as the next room to as far away as Brisbane.
