    Jos and Fenny take me to nearby Assen to see the Drents Museum (gallery). The building is old, not surprising, and has been lifted to allow windows to be placed at the bottom.     From Volendam we travelled across The Afsluitdijk which is a 27km man made road which divided the sea and created a giant lake whilst solving The Netherlands problems of continuos flooding.     ... restaurant in Veenhuisen. Even the entrance was classy with quirky mobiles made of books and glasses, umbrellas, cups and saucers. We were seated at a round table beside the window.
