... an.

We continued on the roadbook without too much of a problem, driving through some really pretty towns and villages. We stopped at a post office, to get stamps, just in case the postcard shops didn't sell them. The change we got in Liechtenstein came in handy here! The route took us into a small town which had a Subaru dealer, so we stopped for a few bingo card photos. As we drove away from there, we saw a ...

When we explained the mission, they were more then happy to oblige with the photo of the team and one of them. The next question was the 'handcuffs' photo. As I was speaking in German to them, I managed to det the idea over, but the policeman ...
Vaduz, Vaduz, Liechtenstein dirtyweekenders... Feldkirch I got lost. Actually I was just trying to get to McDonald's because the group wanted a bathroom break and the public toilets here were not to our standards. Anyway, I drove past the McDonald's twice - once my fault and once the navigator's - and drove down a pedestrian only section of road before we gave up and continued on our journey out of town and deeper into Austria.
Feldkirch, Austrian Alps, Austria travelingdivaThis sunday I made a nice hiking trip with my Dad to the Speer mountain. It suposed to be a training for my further Trekking in Cusco or better said it was in order to see how fit I am. We part in the morning with the car to Amden from where we start our hiking. To begin we could see the lovely Walensee, which for me is one of the most beautifull lakes in Switzerland, and after passing the forest we came allways closer to the mountains.

... the length of the mountain range. It rained the last hour or so. When we got to Zermatt it was very cloudy and rainy and there was no Matterhorn to be seen! Drat.
The station has this really, really neat electric map. You find your hotel on the list and enter its number on the keypad. The board which is a map lights up and highlights and enlarges the path to your hotel. So, we see the hotel is only about 2 blocks away and we walked. Umbrellas, hats, suitcases and ...
... be favorable to the dollar but now it is almost even at about 95 cents to every Swiss Franc . I was also later reminded by someone of a great quote by Martin Luther King Jr: ""The hottest place in Hell is reserved for those who remain neutral in times of great moral conflict." The next morning we would take a train through the Alps to Zermatt, the small skiing town nestled at the base of the Matterhorn.
Chur, Switzerland worldtraveller9... good landscapes.
The day trip took us out from Chur to Reichenau, Thusis, Soliser, Filisur(1080m), the famous Landwasser Viaduct(130m long and 65m above the river), Berguin(1372m), Pontresina at the foot of the Piz Bernina(4049m), Ospizio Bernina, the highest station of this Rhaetian Railway route at 2253m above sea level. We then passed the Alp Grum station with varying views of the nearby glaciers which 'flow' between Piz Bernina and Piz Palu, as we ...
... star. In the end we drove into that railway hotel and they were kind enough to direct us to the Three Kings or Drei Koenig Hotel a couple of blocks away. I had to leave the car in a private car park whilst we booked in and moved our cases. The hotel was not the best but it was all we could find. Lyn's single room was a hoot. The toilet was at the end of the bed and the shower in a cupboard but it was half our room price. Our room was above a well again and we could hear the ...
