It's hard to believe that this day has finally arrived. After many months of planning and saving, we are off to Orlando in 24 hours. The kids are super excited about our family adventure. We did a trial run with the suitcases on Sunday to make sure everything will fit in the back of the trunk. Today will focus on the final packing, crossing off the final to-do lists and getting the carry ons organized. Looking forward to making ...

It seems that a stone or something got lodged in ...

Our reasons for coming to Barrie were to get some small warranty stuff fixed, as well as some bigger projects that we felt we could use help completing. Paul, in the ...

... of a land that is painful and lovely and, in belonging to it, demands sacrifice. The last two days here are to be filled with goodbyes and hugs and packing and tidying and an end-of-season bowling party and my last shift on the desk. It is another limbo of sorts, the extended limbo of leave-taking. I don't handle endings all that well; I struggle with the emotions and sentimentality and become gruff and monosyllabic and push people from me. ...
