... looks as though they are trying to revive the town although I am not sure I would want to spend a week on holiday myself in New Brighton. Each to there own I guess!

... Maritime Museum but have found that the city has a lot more to offer and we are looking forward to exploring it.

On another note - we have, at times, found various accents quite challenging. We were going well in Inverness until we had to have a discussion with one of the receptionists, Caroline. ... jaguars, a trio of cheetahs and a rather large lion or two.

One downside to going in winter is that a lot of the cafes and such are closed, but I was able to get a drink and a muffin at the restaurant, which was a nice break from walking around.

I'll write more about the animals in their photo descriptions (which I'm not sure transfer to Facebook properly, so you might have to come to the blog itself to see them!)

... thoroughly enjoyed immersing itself in the history of the place. Of course, we visited Chester cathedral which, (like all of the churches we have seen on our trip), was a fine display of the architecture of the time. This was made all the more special by the fact that we visited it on a Sunday morning, arriving just as the service was finishing. The place was full of misty incense and the haunting sounds of the piped organ music were echoing through the building.
