God Save the Queen!

... the Olympics. Chill Kavie, we are on holiday here!. A good morning walk nevertheless. We headed to the city after lunch. First stop...Buckingham Palace. Liz wasn't around so we took photos from the outside. Easwari was rather disappointed as she expected something more majestic than this. We then took a walk to Big Ben and Westminster Abbey. Just the usual tourist stuff. Headed back to a birthday dinner. Niceeee.

Unprepared

... Through Westminster, passing the Abbey and Big Ben, then over to Trafalgar square until arriving at Covent Garden. Always one of my faves because of its buzz, it was unfortunately dead as it was still too early for much of anything to be open. If you want to see how Covent Garden can be, check out http://www.travelpod.com/travel-blog-en tries/pwong/canaries-2007/1198451340/tp od.html

U2 at Wembley

... promised to remain so for the show. Mid 20s during the day and not a cloud in sight. The night tempreture was just perfect too, and when i finally made it to my seat i was pleasently surprised to find i had a fantastic viewing spot.

The set, the AV set up, the atmosphere of 90,000 fans all eager to see one fantastic band made for one hell of a show! And U2 sure didn't disapoint, the played over their ...

Our return home

Early this morning (3ish) we all packed up into the vans and headed to the Bangalore Airport for our first leg back home through London. This time, there weren't many on the roads so there were few beeps. There was no weaving in and out of traffic. The only thing that slightly delayed us was a bunch of sheep. The Shepherd was there directing their steps but ...

Packed day

Today was another jam packed day but we managed to get everything done. I went down early and had cornflakes, tea and toast which was fairly satisfying and than I did some more jornalling. After I woke Jen up we walked up the street so she could mail another post card - lucky Bryce - and than we went into a shop to add a few more pounds to our invaluable Oyster card than we popped on the bus to Harrods. We had a hard time spending all of Jen's gift card as everything ...

Last Stop...London!

... Ripper, The Plague, etc...It's basically a history lesson/haunted house with two rides! It was neat but the haunted trail in Balboa is way scarier. Either way it was fun to get into the Halloween spirit and learn about London's horrific past. After we went to the Borrough Market to grab a bite to eat. This market is similar to St. Josep's in Barcelona but not as big. There were a bunch of food vendors selling fresh produce, hot ...

Planning and Departure.

... was devised that would take us on a loop through Bushmanland, the Waterberg Plateau and the Caprivi Strip in Namibia to the Okavango Delta and the National Parks of Chobe and Moremi in Botswana and the magnificent Victoria Falls in Zambia. Our adventure was finally beginning to take shape. When your annual holiday takes up such a small amount of time it is important that the planning and ...

St Paddy's day with the crazy Irish

... the rest of the day that's for sure. The pub had an array of bank notes on the walls to which we added a 100 Thai Baht note with 'Elle and Fran's Canberra Pub Crawl' (just so you can find it next time your in Dublin!). We went to 4 other pubs (I can't remember the order) but one was Hogan's which is featured in PS. I Love You movie and book, the smallest pub in Dublin where we met some crazy Irish men who were planning a musical called 'Famine the Musical', a stag pub that was ...

London here we come

... ease. Once at the hotel we experienced some very poor English service. Gran, Grandad and Auntie B were yet to arrive so we went for a short walk to find some food. It was nice to speak English after ten weeks of only hearing and trying to speak French. Gran, Grandad and Auntie B finally arrived about 5pm much to James and Emma's delight. We all went out for dinner then back to the hotel for an early night to bed.

Chegamos em Londres? /Arrived We to London?

Eu ...
