Windy North Norfolk
... which wouldn't be called a hill in many places other than Norfolk). We'd dropped Ian's car off at the B&B and had warmed up somewhat from the short drive but the wind seemed less merciful here with even less shelter. It was calm in the lee of the 'hill' and we though that it might be a good place to find small birds as there are a few small bushes and bramble patches to provide cover and food but apart from a couple of Goldfinches there was nothing much.

... Less common was a Spotted Redshank that was found on the part of the reserve that is subject to tidal fluctuations in the water level and this was another tick for us, putting Julie onto 199 for the year.
The tide was well out when we reached the beach and a brief sea watch produced nothing of note although we did find out from another birder that the Pectoral Sandpiper had returned to Kelling Water Meadows.
