We had seen much of Provence while Matthew was working in France and decided to take an ambitous journey to Eastern Spain for our last weekend. To our surprise, we discovered that there was a tiny country between France and Spain! We had to check this out! I'm sure we aren't alone in not knowing that there was such a country and I'm sure even fewer have ever travelled there. Although it was generally on our route to Spain from France, the detour into Andorra added ...
Day 22 - Friday, 26th September, 2014
We had decided on Thursday night that we were going to have a lazy day today. The hotel was arguably the best we had stayed at and it was cheap. So we booked in for another night.
We got up to the best inclusive breakfast of the trip so far, some of it being English style although there were no beans and after this went for ...
Day 21 - Thursday, 25th September, 2014

The roads out of Andorra are very good, but it takes almost 90 minutes to completely clear the Pyrennes. With some impressive tunnels it is ...
We begin the day by having a final wander around parts of Carcassonne citie and are on the road by 11. We have a new country to visit - Andorra - which is less than 200 Kms away. The first part of the trip is relatively uninteresting, as scenically the area around Carcassonne has little to offer. However once we get beyond Foix the landscape immediately changes as we reach the foothills of the Pyrenees. The road winds sharply and steeply to an altitude,of over 2000 metres. ...
