Great hotel

This is a great hotel, with a great location and prices. We had a great ocean view of the bay. The staff was extremely friendly, patient with non-Spanish speaking guests, and very helpful. Kudos!

I have just returned from a short holiday to San Sebastian with a group of friends. Based on the reviews on tripadvisor I booked this Hotel for our three night stay. We booked Ocean View rooms and they were delightful. The Hotel was very comfortable and well maintained. Although not cheap I would not question the value for money we enjoyed. The Hotel staff were very good and as for the Gin and Tonics in the Swing Bar - well why can't we get them like that in the UK?! The buffet breakfast was good value with a very wide selection of both hot and cold food. The only criticism we had was the coffee always seemed to be stewed. The Hotel is superbly located and meant that we could take a stroll every evening to a pre-booked Michelin Guide listed Restaurant! In fact once we arrived we left our vehicle in the secure garage nominated by the Receptionist. Overall, Highly recommended.

Just returned form a European honeymoon wherein we stayed 3 nights at the hotel Londres Y Inglaterra. This is a great old hotel with probably the best location in San Seb. Our double ocean view room had a large window (that you can open) that looked out on to La Concha beach and the boardwalk. The room was quiet, had good A/C, was large enough, had a nice bathroom, had immense closet space and was very clean. The staff was very friendly, accomodating and spoke great English. We really couldn't find any fault with this hotel and would definitley stay there on any future trips to San Seb. Lastly, for non-smokers, the only floor of the 6 floor hotel which is non-smoking is the 2nd. So, if being high up for the view is important to you and you are a non-smoker, you must choose between being up high or having a non-smoking room (personally, I am a non-smoker and the second floor room was beautiful, the view was great, and it wasn'ty noisy at all).
Great location!

After walking around the entire city, I realized that this hotel's location was not only good, it was the best! It's steps from the sand, steps from shopping, and steps of the Old Part of the city. The rooms were clean and nice (a little older than modern, but still great) and the staff was wonderful! They were helpful, friendly, and a pleasure to deal with. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in San Sebastian.
We're going back again!

Much more character and warmth than the Maria Christina. A room with a view of the bay is a must! Watching people promenade below our balcony was a regular part of our day - both surrounding mountains were always visible from the balcony as well. Perfect location - walking distance to the aquarium, the old quarter, and Zona Romantica. Also, the hotel is very "kid friendly" - our children especially enjoyed the old-fashioned elevator. One negative: the staff were professional and helpful (giving directions, making restaurant reservations), but even though we stayed 26 nights, the staff did not increasingly personalize their service over that time. Still, we leave in 2 weeks to go back for another long stay at this wonderful hotel!

We stayed in a ocean view room and it was amazing. The view was breathtaking and the room was very nice. If you want to be on the beach this really is the only choice and a very good value. The staff was great and the bar is nice, great olives. Highly recommend it!

Great location. Be sure to get an Ocean View Room. Suggest upgrade to Parlor (suite) Room which is not much more expensive and has lots more space.. The Bar at the Londres is the place to be at the cocktail hour.
Good value - a seaview room for 125 euro a night.

The last three times I visited San Sebastian, I stayed at the 5* Westin Maria Cristina. For about 350-400 euro a night, it was worth the money.
But because of its location, it does not offer a very good view of the ocean. So this time I decided to try Hotel Londres. A room facing La Concha beach costs only 125 euro. Granted that it is only a 4* hotel.
My room wasn't so big, and the deco and amenties were no comparison to MAria Cristina. But it was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The $$$ I saved I spent it lavishly on tapas in the Old Town close by. I think I will do the same thing next year, hopefully the weather will be just as good as this year. Don't forget to borrow an umbrella from the front desk the moment you check in - this place reminds me of Seattle or Vancouver when it rains!

Pleasant hotel, very friendly and efficient staff. Hotel is decorated in the style as one might expect from its name as an Upper crust English seaside hotel. The Bar is very nicely fitted out with attentive bar staff, great views of the promendade. Very secure Valet Parking. Get sea views if you can. Guests tend to me more mature well healed travellers. Don't change money in the hotel as their rates are very poor ( they will admit this). Rooms, clean, well fitted but with slightly antique air conditioning. Wonderful old authentic lift ( though it has two modern ones also). Room breakfast very good.
