Until we had our car and luggage it was 8:00 p.m.
The hotel right next to the airport seemed a bit overpriced with 430 NZD, so we headed way centre and north and thought, there might be lots of motels on our way. Far wrong.
We finally entered Ponsonby, which looked nice, very lively, lots of restaurants. Suddenly I …
... New Zealand is situated farther south than Australia and is a much smaller island nation. The latitude and surrounding seas moderate the climate significantly. The south island is quite mountainous and so elevation effects temperature in many places. We were traveling during February and the weather was consistently warm, dry and sunny. There was a need for a jacket in the evenings and mornings but the days warmed up to the mid 20s on most days.

All in all a ...

We were so happy to find it, as it was so late already, and we could not see any hotels on our way through Auckland downtown. Perfect place, clean, friendly and the steakhouse opposite it just a hit!
