MAGICAL, COLOGN, KNOWN FOR ITS SCENTS

A travel blog entry by cjasko on Jun 09, 2015

Got to a downtown port location, thus able to WALK THRU OLD TOWN from 9 to 12:30.

In the Town Center is a huge cathedral, occupying two blocks, at least 15 stories high, filled with filigree and buttressed walls. It was built over 25 years beginning about 1350. For dessert, crepes Suzette. After our meal, despite the weather being pretty stormy although no rain, we went for a walk around the little town. So lovely, delightful little terraced houses, the canals, the boats, the streets. another wonderful evening. Back to the hotel and early ...

While we are at lunch the boat is having to move to the other bank of the river. From there we are getting a city tour. Not much view through our porthole at our morning berth. Lol. Went on the city tour. Quite interesting. Didn't bother with more sightseeing ...

... quaint hotel is very close to the train station. No one was at reception when we arrived, so we had to ring an intercom. John turned to me and asked what time they opened....pretty funny. We were let in remotely, and our key was on the reception desk....very odd. I'm afraid our hotel is not the home run that the Berlin hotel was....in fact this one is very reminiscent of our hotel in Amsterdam. No elevator....we're on what they call the 4th floor, but it's ...
