Mimi was able to spend the day with Helen and so having a car meant we could venture further ... The city dazzles with Art Nouveau and Art Decor ... and seeing Helen's childhood memories was fun ... she had moved several times within Bruxelles from apartment to 4 storey homes ... It was fun enjoying her past and hearing the excitement of a bygone ...

    Manchester via Brussels

Said goodbye to Porto with some regret. I would really like to return to Portugal someday. It is such a laid back and friendly place. Caught the plane in the early morn and waited for my change in Brussels. Obligatory Belgian beer before leaving then sat on the plane for over an hour waiting for a tour group!!! No take off until this lot arrived! Amazed that they held up plane. Quite sure they wouldn't have done it for me. Once they did arrive, they wandered in slowly ...

Tomorrow we go to Paris for a week - ...

So we just continued to shop in the many chocolatier shops around the town before it was time to get back on the bus. We were on the bus for a few more hours, arriving at Calais in France for our Ferry at around 4. Here we said goodbye ...

We arrived at the Plaza hotel, near Westminster Bridge, where we gathered for the Globus 19 day Grand European bus tour. A quick glimpse around and we sight the other travellers on our tour. We are probably the youngest couple but im sure we will mix and mingle with the others just fine. Our tour director Ben is a lovely man from Belgium and our bus driver Ambrogio is from Italy. We jumped on the bus, which took us to the ...
