... super excited to finally get to London to meet Baby Gabby. Awesome to think my dear brother is now a father! Pnly 10:40am and we have already arrived in London. ... roll my eyes at home and think "I'm only going down the street" but lately it has reminded me that they say such things because bad things can happen, here and over in a foreign country. I've only confided in two people regarding my crazy plans and they both seemed delighted for me. I still have a lot of questions, but I have time to find the answers. ... house where Motown began with an $800 loan, and where the careers of Gladys Knight, Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, and the Jackson 5 were launched, turning the $800 into $20m in a few years. The memorabilia was fantastic, but the highlight was standing in the world famous Studio A, where so many famous songs were recorded. At the end of the tour they even got us all to sing a couple of lines of My Girl, so we can say we've sung there! Well worth the $10 entry ...

Day 13: Exploring the City

... artists made hit after hit after hit. We even sang My Girl in there together.

The highlight of the tour, though, was our tour guide. She was 17 years old, and it was only her third tour ever. She was beautiful, vibrant, excited, knowledgeable, and she had an amazing singing voice. She immediately pulled each and every one of us into the tour and brought Motown to life.

After Motown, we decided we were hungry (starving), so we drove over to Lafayette Coney ...
