... wanted to charge for one shirt and two pairs of socks!

A further 5km saw us luncheoning at a lovely canal perched cafe overlooking fields. We had great lunch followed by a pleasant return journey.

Strangely enough, it was the exact same ride we did in the rain the day before which now looked completely different!

We collected our laundry and were back in the hotel at 2:10pm.

It was a bit cold and drizzly today, but it was lovely out on the bikes, especially as we didn't get lost. Some of the directions we have been given can only be described as diabolical, but with all our geography skills and Google Maps we have found our way. Before we headed out this morning we explored Gouda (the town, not the cheese!). It is a lovely town with over 300 historical buildings that are in great condition. Em and Rob got to watch the carillon on the East wall of ...

... 1400 Belgium beers and their matching glasses. Next was a canal boat tour which was quite enlightening. Back to sample a beer, grabbed a baguette each for a picnic lunch; destination yet to be determined!
Amanda wins today's faux pas de la jour award. She spotted the pay station the day before so with ticket in hand Lisa and I popped in the ticket only to be asked which plug we had plugged our car in. Whoops.
2 hours to the Netherlands and we were ...
