Hello all, So i have finally taken the time out to update and fill you all in on our adventure so far - Tash and i finally arrived in Bangkok at 16.30pm Thailand time 20.30 our time the flight was pretty good excellent leg room which is always a plus, fantastic service and the food was delicious, the only down side was that we did not have TV's at the back of our seats and if i had been flying alone this would have been a very boring trip but i had Tash to keep me occupied lets just say Yatze...

So golf told us(after a few beers) that we had to visits this place and see how beautiful it was for ourselves, so we did!
As soon as we walked in the park there were elephants trekking around the park.We jumped on the tour bus which was about 40p and had a hour long tour around the park to see all of the gardens, flowers and exotic pants (oh and a fake stone henge).
After sweating about a pint of water,we went into this arena ...
Pattaya is a beach resort city a few hours from Bangkok. Casey and I were the only ones in the van going there. We stopped at a Gem Factory near Pattaya, the biggest in Thailand. We went on a little ride that took us through all these places and explained lots of stuff about gems, the mining process, how they cut gems, etc. The gem factory mines all their own gems in Thailand, which is most famous for its rubies and sapphires. That ...
Pattaya, Chon Buri, Thailand alainetaylorWe were so lucky to be picked up in Bangkok airport by my parents friend Paula who drove us to her home in Pattaya. We arrived in the evening and went out for a lovely meal after some tasty lyons tea! a taste of home!!!
Next day we headed sightseeing which was made soo easy as Paula drove us around everywhere! We visited The GOlden Budha which is a budha carved out of the side of a mountain and ...
... lazy about the travel and I wanted the beach for my last few days before Bangkok as I need also to escape the heat. I lucked out, and with about 10 hours of Internet research, found a pretty good hotel in a great location, considering the choices here. I am staying in Jomtein - an upscale part of Pattaya: Pattaya is a really big City as well. This particular beach prides itself on being less 'sex trade' as the others so I gave it a go. Pattaya/Jomtein ...
Pattaya, Thailand everywhere... It seems that all of us had plenty to do for the year except me. What was I going to do to fill in the time? By myself, I would simply travel. Travelling alone is easy but sorting the lives out for two young boys, teaching them a new language and important cultural differences while travelling, does seem a little over zealous. I had blood pooling in my left sinus, my head was throbbing and my tooth ached with sinus pain. I only had one ...
Pattaya, Thailand tom-of-boracay... the cds were played out and the bar kicked us out, Tan revealed that he was in the process of selling his beach bar just a few doors down. So we strolled/stumbled down the beach, opened the bar, kicked on the music and continued til 4. If the night wasn't overcast, I might have been inclined to stay awake for the sunrise.
Ko Sametr, Thailand teambob... Anything for my kids. There is a woman's karate expert giving a demo at the school tonight so I think I'll go take a look. Oh, Wat Nai Rai school has a house for me to stay in while I am there and the principal is working on getting me a refrigerator , although I'm not quite sure what I'll do with it. I heard the regular teachers there get 7000 Baht /month or less than $200. Can you imagine? And my one Thai teacher here at TEFL (a lady named Gee, who I am quite fond of) gets ...
Koh Chang, Thailand olsommerYet another minibus journey, this one for about 4 hours down to the south coast so that we could catch a boat at the pier. In usual travelling style we had to leap across the gap to get on and the boat didn't leave on time continuing to pack in the tourists and their luggage. The result was that the tide had changed and the boat was really heavy and we got stuck in the mud and had to be towed out. About 30 mins later we arrived on the beautful island of Ko Samet and were ...
