... a lot of history and the buildings are old. Its interesting to note that in spite of the city having been severely bombed by the allies during the war, the three cathedrals, which sport tall spires, were never hit or damaged. Must be a divine force at work.

... So we ended up turning around and having to negotiate a complicated diversion.

We arrived at Hamburg at around 2.00 where we checked into the luxurious four star Maddison Hotel which had been booked for us by my business associates from DVA. Pure luxury after our bus. Our bus has a total of 4.5 square meters of living space, now we were thrown into 35 square meters. We nearly lost each other.

... nibbles for us and some nibbles for Prego, bless her (she obviously couldn't smell poobacca!!) We even managed to request wasser für die hund and she was more than happy to oblige! We stayed here for a couple of drinks as the sun was shining and we were celebrating a new country. Back to the van for a scrub for Prego and a chill out before dins of leftover pasta and settling down for the new evening ritual of Prison ...

... so obvious to us now but we ended up in Jungfengsteig a nice spot on the Alster River... No fish and chips but he settled for steak instead and I got my soup :) we were right next to Town Hall so spent some time looking around here. All the shops were closed as it is a Sunday but just nice walking in the Sun. We then caught a train back to where we came from and went to a beach club for some drinks.
