... to Munich via train instead of car, so we spent the rest of sunday afternoon arranging to drop the car in Hamburg instead of Munich and then buying train tickets. All worked out well, so we stayed an extra day in Hamburg (Monday) and were able to get laundry done (whoopee!!) and go to the Miniatur Wunderland, which was pretty whoopee.

We walk down the stairs about 100 metres looking at the large lifts that take cars down to the single lane road. We walk along the narrow pedestrian path for about 450 metres looking ar the tile decorations on the walls. At the other end of the tunnel there are similar car lifts and we walk up to street level. Walking around the ...

Yes, it's me again but I am ghost blogging (is there such a term?) from lovely Galiano Island for Jim, who is almost two weeks into another European cycle trip. He's back to Deutschland with pal Werner, who was born there and knows his flammkuchen from his zwiebelkuchen. It will be an opera in two parts: they are currently on the Elbe Cycle Route or Elberadweg, biking south from Hamburg to Dresden on the Elbe Cycle Route, then from Wurtsburg to ...
