Strasbourg I managed to get to Strasbourg for the day on Monday, the day before my TGV train to Paris. It turned out to be an adventure, as trains were not running as they usually did. Margaret saw me to Offenburg, and when she discovered the train was cancelled to Strasbourg, helped negotiate a taxi for 7 of us to Strasbourg. That was a great hit with the other passengers. ... some breeze the last week, it would have been perfect. But we seem to be more comfortable here so fingers crossed the tans can continue but with a little more air! We drove up along the German Border and stopped at Strasbourg. We camped along the Rhein River on the German side. The border between France and Germany runs through the middle of the river. We went into the city by tram and found a delightful German looking town with canals.

... meal with a German family, ANNYA RIEDER, and her daughter SELINE, A 18 year old. They showed us their three bedroom flat, over 100 years old, and they had a wonderful dinner prepared for us of sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, bratwurst and meatballs and salad. This was very enjoyable to experience a German family and how they live. We left about 9 pm for the boat.
