    ... common issue here?! Shopping done, we set our sights on a monastery that we think is the most famous one and head to the hills. The drive was quite incredible winding through mountains between tiny villages as the temperature dropped and the rain set in. What seamed like Hundreds of people were lined along the highway selling jams and honey's - kinda wishes we had some Bulgarian to purchase - before we dropped down to ski valley. Pretty crazy ...

    Gas station break at 1415 for 20M. No self serve here. Bought an ice cream bar [2.5]. The name of the town where we stopped was Gotse Delchev, a national Bulgarian revolutionary hero. We saw his mausoleum at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Skopje.

    Climbing again removed all vestiges of civilization but the road. Bansko is at 900m. It is a ski resort town. We were into the Park Hotel Gardenia by ...

    ... the hotel around 1 and you know what that means...nana nap time! So after some serious snoozing, we got up around 2 and wandered around the village of Bansko, heading down some lovely little alleyways and spent the rest of the day just chillling out in local bars and cafés, drinking beer and coffee and relaxing and catching up on our photos and blog time.

    ... to feed each bear so if anyone's interested, their website is www.vier-pfoten.bg (four paws) Once they had been brought to the sanctuary, they were put into these really large fenced off areas in native forest, designed to replicate their original environment. The bears who were here looked pretty happy, although some of them still had the whole dancing bear routine going along and would shuffle side to side for 5 minutes at a time as we watched.
