Home Sweet Home!!!
Whew----we made it!! After all the crazy weather in Chicago, we only ended up being about a half hour late to Appleton.
It was good to see Mom's face at the airport, and even nicer that this was the last time we had to lug our suitcases around.
Thanks to Mom for cat-sitting for Derby---we wouldn't have been able to take this trip without her :)

So, here we are, waiting to take off on our big adventure. Flying out of Appleton is so nice, security is a breeze!
Our flight to Chicago is running a little late (surprise, surprise), but we have 3 hours to make our next connection, so we should be ok.

Sturgeon Bay via Menominee to Mackinaw, MI
Day 9 - departed for the Upper Peninsula (UP) of Michigan, and the Mackinaw Straights toll bridge (5 mi long). Very pretty, somewhat remote, drive on Hwy 2 across the north end of Lake Michigan - lot of wild life visible - mostly deer - and the road followed very closely to the edge of the lake all the way to Mackinaw.

Green Bay to Sturgeon Bay, WI - at Georgia's house
... find it out in the country at night (10pm) - and she had complete trust in our being there, even though we had never met. It was great to know there are still places in the US where people can live in trust of others.
This place was far out in the country - very dark and no lights, but easy to find with the help of my iPhone GPS. It would definitely be a surprise to see it when the sun comes up the next day.

Our week in Green Bay!!
... only had one show and we had help with set up and tear down which was awesome! After that Jonathan tried to find the bay but we couldn't find access so we went back to our hotel to take a nap since we had gotten up early then went to Goodwill and a Italian restuarant that makes all their food from scratch. I had chicken parm which is my favorite and Jonathan had chicken curry..not an italian dish but he loved it! We celebrated with some delicious chocolate pie that Jonathan ...
