... given that while we were resting Spencer was running laps of the courtyard, well it isn’t looking good.

Walking back towards town we spotted a lovely statue of a young boy. As is the case with many a statue around the world apparently good luck can be gained by rubbing a part of the statue ….. hence the glowing gold penis. In fact legend would have it that it isn’t just general good luck that is gained, it is a specific type of luck ...

Due to the size and lack of space, we were sharing a table with two women and a young girl who we soon struck up conversation with. It turned out that one of these women was in fact from Devon and working in the Czech Republic with the BBC as a costume designer filming for the television series, ‘Three Musketeers.’ Having wanted to work in television from a young age, I was ...

I'm hoping Amsterdam will be a better time for me! There's actually not that many English speaking tourists around, I guess they all come at the height of summer. It's made meeting people quite difficult in the hostels. I'm in Rome for a week from Saturday though so maybe I'll find some ...

... go to the shop. That's when I knew just how serious this hostel is about drinking. After I got hydrated I headed off out with a couple of girls. We managed to go for a little walk and a spot of lunch before the 14.00 free tour started. The free tour was run by a Scottish man who had lived in Prague for 5 years. He seemed to know his stuff. He told us about all the scams that we might come across whilst we are in Czech Republic. He then took us around the old town explaining all ...

... pub. It was here that we found out that the Czech Republic really is the beer capital of the world! The pub we visited was part of the beer ‘alliance’ - and had over a dozen beers on tap. Happy days indeed! We settled ourselves in the basement and Kathy ordered us a round of ‘small’ beers (300ml so not too small) and some Czech ‘tapas’ - which she described as something small to eat with beer. Now if what we demolished was something small ...
