... in particular were incredible, such attention to detail and beautiful symmetry were just a joy. Even the veggie and herb gardens had the same detail! 10 full time Gardners and 115,000 seedlings planted out each year!

... that was wrong with the French Government and their polices in broken English/ French.

Anyway the castles were amazing. We went to the same one Dave saw-Villandry. It's privately owned and many of the spectacular gardens were actually vegetables.Some were very formal and maze like but there were also some lovely cottage gardens and water features. While we were there they were picking lettuces which they sell in the local village in a special stall -the price ...

... difference at the pool was that men had to wear speedo type bathing suits. If they were wearing typical American swimming trunks, they wouldn't be let in. I haven't been able to figure out why, but that's the norm here. I had a really nice time, and it made me realize how little time we have left. I'm going to miss everyone so much, and hopefully I'll still be able to hang out with everyone once we return to MSU!
