... a week+ of frighteningly sub-par instruction in Alyssa's combined 2/3/4 class (really, who can teach across 3 grades?), we became the parents from h-e-double hockey sticks (as Alyssa would say) and had a one-on-one with the principal. As of today Alyssa is in a year 5 'opportunity' class -- normally reserved for kids who test in the top 5%, but the school administration clearly wanted to make sure they wouldn't hear from us again in the short time ...
... a warm evening with people spilling out of open air pubs. And it helps that every single person is bronzed and BEAUTIFUL! Literally. Everyone. Of course I fit right in with my huge great sunburn after an hour (AN HOUR!!) on the beach. I know now the REAL reason the Aussie men couldn't keep their eyes off me ;) Jetlag was threatening to pull me under but meeting up with an old Uni friend was fun, getting a taste for some of the places ...
... Hairy Maclary a very interesting exhibition. Back at the Harbour we went back to the wine bar we had visited yesterday. Ordered some food and got talking to a young couple from Dallas. Interesting to find out about their views of life in Dallas, no mention of South Fork. A couple of drinks and back to the apartment, as we had evening tickets to visit Sydney observatory.
When we eventually found it, the guided visit was very disappointing not ...
Where we got dropped off was a short walking distance to Gill and Murray's flat and we made our plans for the upcoming days in Sydney. We headed out for a stroll around the local area before getting a bite to eat and calling it a night.
