Today we did a walking tour of Sydney. We chose a very hot and humid day. More than 30degrees. We began by walking to the nearest station which is called Green Park. It takes about 20 minutes and you pass through leafy streets of old (by Australian standards) houses. Many have corrugated rooves which must be very noisy when it rains. Most of them have Victorian wrought iron balconies and verandas and ...

We started the day with a simple breakfast of bacon, eggs and toast from the cafe across the street. We had it "takeaway" so we could eat on the rooftop patio of the apartment building, with a gorgeous view of downtown Sydney, the harbor Bridge and the Opera House.  We took the train to Darling Harbor, and upon seeing a sign for the Zoo, bought tickets and went in. It was a really fun zoo with all manner of deadly Australian snakes, bugs, and reptiles. We saw ...

We managed plenty of conversation though, about where i'd been and where I was going, my family, their family, and great grand children, their lives ...

To spot a whale look for their blow which rises up to 3 meters high. They blow for 4 to 10 times at 20-30 second intervals, gently rising with the humped backs visible for a few seconds. When they start a deep dive you see their tail( flukes) in the air. Did not see whales breaching. Mendenhall Glacier Xxxxxx Tour 2 Mount Robert's Tramway ...

... the club deck in the centre of the ship at a nicely laid out table with superb views over the Harbour. There were Canapés on arrival followed by Champagne, then grilled lobster, fillet of beef or Salmon, Elaine had the beef I had the Salmon, then followed desert shaped like the Opera house....although not as big...but yummy, then tea , chocolates and as much alcohol as you wanted. A group of singers and musicians entertained ...
