    ... heritage pub in the Rocks area which was built in the 1860’s, all sandstone hewn walls and old fireplaces, then went back to the quay again where Vince shouted a bottle of bubbles in honour of him having had an excellent day at work with a successful end to a project so it was a good excuse to celebrate. And even better with the opera house as the backdrop, we sat outside on what had turned into a very mild evening enjoying each other’s company again. ...

    ... Stopped for a bathroom break in a public toilet that turned out to be a robot-toilet! Super awesome. Gave details, all automatic or buttons, and when it stopped talking, it started playing music!

    Further on the trail we came across a site with Aborigine engravings in the rock. They were very cool (I thought) although in need of much better protection...

    ... Barrier Reef is hard to beat. Sydney was my next favorite. I just felt like there was more culture and more to do in Sydney than Brisbane. Every part of the city had a different atmosphere. One minute you could be in a historic area with European style architecture and cobblestone streets, and the next I felt like I was in year 3000.     Pip picked me up from the airport and we went clothes shopping for Pip. Something I have never experienced before and something Pip probably hasn't done herself for many years. This unusual event was necessary because Pip had no clothes without holes in them to take away with her.

    ... although we walked for at least 2 hrs. Everyone over here seems more active than your average American— maybe that’s one reason why there large size meals are equal to our small sizes. There are a continuous stream of runners all along the harbour and in the Botanic Gardens. There are plenty of people out walking the streets as you would expect in any large city, but it’s definitely not crowded and easily navigable.
