    The weather was still dreary on Sunday when we arrived in Okinawa, the southernmost Japanese island.

    Sightseeing was minimal. We were driven through the port city of Naha to Shuri Castle, which served various types of royalty until Okinawa became a Japanese prefecture in 1879.

    Fine day 27 degrees. We awoke just before 7am and sat in the room reading shore tour options for Hong Kong.
