Splendid day flying down from Kobe, 10 knot tailwind much of the way, only a 7.5 hour flight. Over water most of the way, very smooth, so just settled in at 6500' and was a nice change to have an easy flight.

The further south I ventured, the more I started to seeing the Pacific I always imagine - sand islands and sparkling blue seas.

    Tsushima-maru Memorial Museum:
No photos from here. The story of this ship is a story of war not peace. The lives of 1484 evacuees including 775 children were taken as an American submarine destroyed what they believed was a cargo ship taking supplies to Japan. Instead it was a cargo ship carrying mostly children to safety from Okinawa where the Battle of Okinawa raged to ...

... 100yen in pineapple wine and other pineapple sweats and treats. SO worth it.

After overeating pineapple snacks we worked up a hefty appetite for real food. Terence took me to another nice little place called Captain Kangaroo. This quirky burger place offered a gorgeous view of the ocean and evening sunset... which was great, because we were there for about two hours just waiting for our food. Our burgers were yummy but with full bellies and anxious to go home ...
