So today was a funny one. I was still so tired this morning and was 5 minutes late for class - not a problem really but it knocked me for 6 and it was difficult to gain confidence throughout the rest of the lesson. I started to have my first doubts about whether I'm doing the right thing today.... The lessons are great for those who are properly learning Spanish - maybe for work, or to help with school, ...

... and I retreated to the rooftop pool - my first time actually in the pool and it was perfect. I opted for an early night tonight so watched the sun go down then headed to the jazz bar within the hotel for a quick drink before bed - taking my homework with me (oh I'm so cool...!). After dinner caipirinhas (of course!) at Idem - a very cool small bar, which sadly was very hot and a bit quiet... To be tried again at a weekend! Monica did very well speaking English all night and there weren't too many awkward silences to contend with! Our mission tomorrow is to try to encourage more people from the course to be ...

... vicinity and ended up at Passeig des Born which is one of the major streets here and is 5 minutes' walk away. There seems to be plenty going on for other evenings. However, last night I realised way too late that I hadn't done my homework for class, so got back to the hotel and finished that quickly... With a beer by my side, of course! It's definitely odd being here by myself and not having someone to share beers, views and sunsets with... Something I better get used to I ...
