These pictures are from me trying to take a photo of myself writing with my ancient feather pen from the Alicante market and from walking around Alicante on a tour of the the two cathedrals, San Nicolas y Santa Barbara.
The pictures later are from our visit to two little pueblos just outside of Alicante; Guadalest and Altea. In the little town of Guadalest is a beautiful castle ...
... necklace made out of onion for Annabelle!~! And a pair of mono hammered metal copper earrings!~! It's hard here because spending Euros doesn't seem like you're spending real money--but it is!
We meet our host families in two days and that's when it all really begins. I can't wait! I'm just hoping and praying that I live close to the City Centre. And that mi familia es muy amable.

... with: "What nationality are you?" I stared at him blankly and replied "British", I joked, "this is the BRITISH consulate". He then wisely replied "no, no. Many people don´t realise this but Britain actually consists of England, Scottland, and Wales". At this point someone else sitting behind, him who we had previously spoke to, started to silently cry laughing. I replied "yeh, I know but....." He then interupted me and said "no, your not hearing me, the Island ...
Alacante, Valencia, Spain chris_jones01... few hours Miguel turned up and told us his stories of being lost which involved running round the city for two hours looking confused. He obviously went up for a shower. Shortly after a German girl (Jessica) started talking to me looking to meet some people. She told me a funny story about how she had just seen this crazy looking confused person running around a bus stop. This story was ...

After a truly genius and uplifting night the Belgians and Germans who were supposed to be leaving in the morning decided to stay another day. Then we all slept in our own amazingly comfortable beds. Awesome.

Then we soundly fell asleep to the sound of heavy traffic a few meters away.

... and invited us to stay with them in a household already overflowing before we were added to the mix. We totalled 19 people in the house! The train ride across southern Spain was awesome. Two trains, the first was a super fast and fancy one. Left early in the morning, watched the sunrise over rolling green hills carpeted with frost and scattered trees. As we sped eastward, the terrain became drier, more dessert-like, vineyards and the occasional Spanish ...
