... 3 euros each, Freida and Paola (and their driver) brought our knees painlessly down the rest of the mountain! By now, there were a lot of people on the road, so we felt rather royal. After lunch, we went through a similar ticket/turnstile process and entered the castle where Ludwig spent his childhood summers, Hohenschwangau. ... difficult but important part of the tour. Just north of Munich, we visited the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site. A specially trained guide, Brendan (and yes, he is Irish), gave us a brief but packed tour of the grounds. Our tour was great except that the number of people in our group was too large, people talked during the guide's presentation and people brought children that were too young to appreciate the castle. After the tour, we walked to Mary's bridge which is uphill ...

... Disney created the castle at Disneyland. But we didn't go into it because it's really such a tourist stop....several bus loads arrived just before us and the line for tickets was over a block long. We have one photo.. From a lovely cemetery in Fussen.

Our spellplatze for the night was quite large but comfortable with lots of stores within walking distance. We stayed two nights here because it rained all day ...
