      ... and my intention was to seek advice from the reception staff at the hostel, but there was no-one about in the morning. My next plan was to get to the bus station in plenty of time in case we had to go somewhere else to buy a ticket or in case the bus filled up, but in the event it was quite a long walk - taken there without deviation once more by Google maps - and we got there at 10:50.       ... later that the usual fare is about half that, but I wasn’t about to stand in the rain and start haggling about the price. I was tired and hungry, and € 10 didn’t seem out of line.

      The desk clerk at Hotel Pri Mraku spoke excellent English, and took my Passport for about 20 minutes to record the details. That used to be the practice in most places in Europe many years ago, but doesn’t seem to be commonly done these days. ...
