Left Padua at 11.00 and headed north on the Autostrada and reached Slovenia around 12.30. The first valley that I rode after the border had a beautiful blue-green river running through it. This was a great introduction into ...

Our early morning pick-up arrived early so we were up at 4.50 am and on the road by 5.20 am. It was then a long and tedious wait at the airport for our flight to Ljubljana. We arrived at our hotel around midday, but had to wait till 2pm to check in, so left out bags and went for a stroll. Bob was instantly taken with Ljubljana, as was I. After the heat and pace of Istanbul it was a very pleasant change. Unfortunately I wasn't ...

Busts of marshal tito and youth movement forage caps nazi medals and bayonets in with the pin badges coffee grinders watches and debris from the 70s aka the decade that taste forgot. Our purchases? ... free! The views were not that amazing and we kept getting lost! We did find a lovely walk down though. We had to head to the hostel to get our bags to head to the bus, on the way we headed to the vending machines! Our tour guide had shown us where the locals buy the milk! It's a vending machine where you buy a bottle then refill it from the machine! Although, this is what they call raw milk.......so we ...

          Ljubljana; quaint and quiet

... military base in the outskirts of the city. An unexpected eclectic mix of cultures and music styles in each of the main buildings, think old Mario looking Slovenian guy sitting on a chair with his acoustic guitar and a voice trained on a lifetime of whisky and cigarettes.. Past the small shed come bar, numerous pieces of graffiti artworks and guys sitting in a playground smoking, there was another building with heavy rock/metal. Far from my expectations from a night in Ljubljana!!
