... if the day was a stop at a small local restaurant on the bank of the Krka river. The theme was woods and water. All food came from the forest or the river. Venison and trout were offered for the main meal, with several appetizers made from, trout ( three kinds) , mushrooms , horseradish, zucchini, along with fresh lettuce, tomatoes and local herbs. ... from our place. It was a brisk 23 degrees out but it was not too bad if we kept moving. We stopped first to admire the decorations on the main square. The lights were not on during the day but there seemed to be quite a few set up and we would have to return to see them later. We listened to some men play Eastern European versions of Christmas songs. They sang in the tone of voice that we associate with this region (all minory and stuff) and in Slovenian. They were really good.
