... fed me while I waited for a ride. Then, around noon 3 girls in a hippie van took me to Barcelona, where I took a bus to Roses.
I arrived in Roses very late, but the next day I decided to go for a short walk to one of the beaches. There, you would never believe it, I attracted another man that cried on my shoulder over a broken heart. How and why this happened I will never know. But I am glad that they felt like they could share ...
This afternoon we head past the foot of the Pyrenees to Sant Pol to do some kayaking and snorkelling. We wind around the bay on our kayaks and take in the sights. The water is a crystal clear green. Of course we rock each other's boats and splash about along the way. I don't see very many fish around however. But definately a fun outdoorsy afternoon.
It's all about the bike.... So why would you want to sit inside and write a blog when it is beautiful weather every day and you could be out riding? Exactly my point. Last year I wrote a fairly lengthy (and some would say too lengthy) blog about the wonderful adventure that Shelly (my lovely wife) and I had visiting Girona. This year Shelly was unable to join me so that has left me with lot's of time to ride the bike.
Shortly after I arrived ...

They arrived at Cal Ros and positioned themselves at a table in the shade of an archway giving them a view onto a small plaza, and beyond that, the steeple of the Cathedral situated on a hill in the distance. They both examined the comprehensive menu as well as the Menu de Migdia, a three course special for twenty-two euros, including bread, a bottle of sparkling water and ...

TravelPod Member ReviewsAC Hotel Palau de Bellavista by Marriott Girona
We were on the road between Italy and Spain and found ourselves in Girona at the end of a long day of driving. I used my Marriott iphone app to discover this hotel. It is a bit complicated to find in the city unless you have a GPS and of course the early evening traffic was frustrating but we were glad we made the effort.
The rooms are lovely, clean, spacious and very comfortable.
We had drinks in the bar and dinner in their restaurant. The menu is not extensive but we had great service from Pablo. We also made a comment about the lack of outlets in our room and the night manager found us in the bar and gave us an expanded plug to provide two outlets for our computer.
They seemed genuinely interested in insuring our comfort and enjoyment at their hotel. There is secure, free parking which is not always available in Europe so we counted that as an additional plus!
The frosting on the cake, a beautiful terrace overlooking the city. While it was a rainy evening I could imagine how nice it would be to have drinks and dinner alfresco!
