Day 3, 4

Day 3 I wasn't traveling at all, I was busy working, However on the forth day I managed to go to a town not far from Barcelona called Lloret de Mar. It is a new town located just near the seashore, with wonderful forests at the same time. There are a lot of hotels there for every type of traveler.
<br ...
Lloret de Mar, Catalonia, Spain and Canary Islands eleoshka... at Roses looked much better with a lot more seafood included.

After lunch we set off up to the castle, inside its walls are numerous little houses which are still inhabited, although the satellite dishes were rather incongruous! After all this exercise it was time for a cocktail followed by a spot of shopping before eventually heading back to L’Escala.
Tossa de Mar, Catalonia, Spain and Canary Islands kevino101... Alison bought a small leather change purse for €2 to replace her stolen wallet. Then it was back to enjoy the pool at the timeshare. We spent a very relaxing day enjoying each others company, sunbathing in the heat of the day, before heading back to Girona airport with Chris & Milly at night, so that they could catch their flight back to London. Our farewells weren’t too teary, as we knew we would see them again in two weeks, in Auckland.
L'Escala, Catalonia, Spain and Canary Islands kevino101The timeshare (Port de Rei) is situated a short distance out of the town of L'Escala. We drove through town following Dora’s directions, but were not too sure where we were headed, eventually ending up outside a large building built on a rugged coast overlooking the Mediterranean. Our plan was to inform the manager of our late arrival (on the next day) and then head towards Girona where we were to pick up Chris & Milly who were joining us for the ...

Tossa de Mar, Catalonia, Spain and Canary Islands nanofino... like waking up in a bus that had driven into the middle of a fairy tale! Besalu is this awesome little town which was designated Spanish national property in 1966. There was a beautiful bridge that was utilized a lot during the middle ages (for a profit of course). When we went over the gorgeous bridge, we visited the church of Sant Pere which was inaugurated in 1003. This place was beautiful! Very much a part of Catalunya, as were all the places we ...
Girona, Catalonia, Spain and Canary Islands aspinmasterLast day with our C8 MPV and so Sue plotted out a day on the Costa Brava coast. Her research was spot on and we ended up for breakfast at Tossa de Mar (albeit at 10am). Gorgeous beach and easy parking just beating the rush. By the time we left (after a long swim) beach was packed. Sandy even did as the locals and bared her ...
Tossa de Mar, Catalonia, Spain and Canary Islands buckgw... lots of farm land. St Jean Pied de Port is an important staring point for the pilgrim trails in France and Spain. My french is brutal but we managed. Noticed that the French drive faster and take a little more room on the road. The roads also seem busier in France. Day2 - St Jean Pied de Port to Isaba, Spain 92km Up most of the day according to Deb. Two passes and lots of rolling hills which get tiring. Along this section again is alot of ...
Girona, Catalonia, Spain and Canary Islands vamos_surUp for breakfast - toast, croissants, lots of yogurt and TONS of juice to combat my dehydration. Off to Girona by car, with a stop in Tarragona. We took the long, scenic route (i.e. - I got us lost). It should have been simple getting out of town, but it wasn't. We finally made our way to the oceanfront and according to the map, the ramp to the highway was right at the end of it.

After getting some directions, we ...
