... to see them in the original state but it is what it is thanks to history. The town was small, beautiful and full of life but not a place I could live, I need more chaos! Overall I really enjoyed the visit to Cordoba, I never really realized how much I liked architecture and art until I got here and can't wait to explore it more in the coming months.
Córdoba, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands aperiseeAfter my dad left for the States I waited another 3 hours in the airport for my flight to Sevilla. In Sevilla I took the train to Cordoba to meet up with my good friends, Denise and Tyler. There was a notable geographic change and more importantly, no rain!! It even felt a little tropical with all the palm trees around but not as green as up north. The landscapes were dominated with plots of oranges and olives and ...
Córdoba, Andalusia, Spain duff32... Reyes Cristianos (Castle of the Chrisitan Monarchs). The castle was donate by Ferdinand and Isabel to the Inquisition in 1482. It has existed as a fortress since Roman times, later it was held by the Muslims, and finally by the Christians. Inside its walls you will find beautiful gardens, Arabic styles baths, and defense towers. I could have spent a couple of hours photographing the gardens. After stopping at the castle, we ...
Cordoba, Spain gabilan... stopped! Marcus of course jumps at any chance to cook over a fire. And I don't really mind camping when it's out in the country, next to a river, and the very chatty unintelligible nice man over the road gives us as much water as we need (at the cost of a 30 minute conversation about nothing much!) 88km cycled today, but not so amazing as it sounds because most of it was dead flat. A new maximum speed for Marcus though - 58.9kph.
Marchena, Spain and Canary Islands marcusnlisaHola! My classes are set and my last two classes are a Spanish writing and comprehension class and a Flamenco class. The Spanish class is going to be hard but hopefully I will learn a lot. Tonight Becky and I met Alberto, the friend of Pepita who is our age, for some tapas. We went down to his barrio (neighborhood in a big sense) and let him choose the ...
Seville, Spain mingozingoHola! Today I did the usual, get up, go to class, eat massive amounts of lunch, go back and use the internet and then come home and eat massive amounts of dinner. However I did purchase tickets today to Ireland for the first week of April during our Easter break with Heather, Becca and Reina. I'm really excited! Also, Pepita had a funeral tonight so we had to eat dinner later then usual. While she was gone, we got a knock on our bedroom door from Abuela ...
Sevilla, Spain mingozingo... also hasn't hit me that I am going to be here for 5 months. I feel like I'm visiting Aunt Kathy for a month and my time is half way up. I'm not sure when that's going to kick in, but right now 5 months sure seems like a long time. After my great walk, I came back and hung around until dinner. Pepita went out tonight with a friend and she got a babysitter for Abuela who is about my age. It was a ...

Córdoba, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands spirityufo... new friends and ran into some people I knew from Seattle (who knew!?) The people in that area are so friendly and helpful and really made me feel welcome. Spent several relaxing days outside of Pattaya at Jomtien Beach. Boy am I glad I didn´t stay in Pattaya. The town was built up around the time that US soldiers would take their R&R leaves from Vietnam, and it´s a mess of bars, strip clubs, neon, and tacky shops. Jomtien Beach is about 10 minutes south and ...
