    ... is a beautiful drive though weaving between mountains across ravines 100's of metres high and views out to sea beyond. We arrived in Almerimar around 3 in the afternoon. The whole town is built from scratch starting about 40 years ago. There was nothing there so a man founded a new town, harbour and marina.It is really too modern for my taste but a harbour parking spot is always my No. 1 aim.     ... pleased that 'Elf & Safety' had not reached this part of the world and that there were signs indicating that children could be thrown off this part of the cliff (see picture). We saw a couple approaching us with baby in a carry basket slung between them and we thought we were going to witness a ritual sacrifice. Nothing happened however and despite waiting for some time nobody threw ant children off while we were there. Better luck next time!

    ... Qantas had announced that we were to experience their new menu and it was terrible. Emirates made no such claims and produced some very tasty dishes served by very pleasant stewardesses. I know which way I will fly in future.
