      Desolate edge

I finally broke out of the campsite Roche. I'd been there a month, and whilst on the one hand it had become like home and I had an inertia towards leaving, comfortable as I was in my spot, there was also a longing to move again, so I was soon in a great mood as I headed off up the coast. Looking at the map I'd spotted lots of small green tinged roads which hugged the coastline from where I was ...

I am sure you are all jealous of my posts about the wonderful weather I have been having while beach hopping down the coast of Spain. Well, yesterday it all went downhill rather quickly and rather severely! After spending 2 nights at a stop on the beach, I decided to move off in order to make some ground closer to tarifa which will be my most southerly stop before heading back north. It translates as 'warm coast', so named because it has a micro-climate featuring hot, dry weather (even in the winter), hence it being it ...

      This is getting ridiculous

A travel blog entry by sophistikitty on Sep 18, 2014

The next day was even worse on the anchorage front. We were planning on having a fairly short day, so we left late, only to find that the spot we'd selected was right behind a headland with 20 knots of wind gusting around it, straight into us.

This was clearly unsuitable, but the nearest marina was 26 miles away and we'd struggle to get there before dark. Still, we ...

We did our own walking tour today in Almeria, Spain which consisted of touring the Alcazaba fortress which is one of the biggest fortresses ever built by the Arabs in Spain. We walked the downtown and harbour areas returning to the ship for sail-away at 4:00 pm. +30 again today so tried to soak it all up!
