So today is our last day and we are both ready to be done with it! We arrived not until noon in Alicante and we had reserved an excursion to see two towns near Alicante. One was Jalon and is famous for Muscatel wine and the other was Aleta famous for nothing except that the tour guide lives there. So this day turned out to be a double holiday in Spain and ...
Alicante, Valencian Country, Spain and Canary Islands mamafeathers... to jagged rocks, slippery mud and cliff faces accented with a million seagulls (and their droppings...). We persevered up the majority of the trail until we got to a point where we were using ropes for balance as we went up steeper rock faces. Now I wouldn't call this a challenging hike, perhaps a bit technical but in flip flops it was HELL! We finally called it ...
Benidorm, Valencian Country, Spain and Canary Islands sofenjon... we went to see and in Altea there was a beautiful rocky beach where Cristina and I had a really good heart to heart about our lives. Alicante, Valencian Country, Spain and Canary Islands jessicahwangSo today was the first day of the official CIEE program in Alicante, Spain. I realize now just how freaking lucky I was to have Elizabeth as my travel companion. I'm so glad it worked out well. We like exploring and we both have enough guts to get us around as well as we're on the same schedule when going out and about around the town and we were able to discover quite a bit just on our own in the last two days in Alicante ...
Alicante, Valencian Country, Spain and Canary Islands jessicahwangHas to be the funniest morning yet. The three of us and the two Belgians got up early to get some breakfast from the cafeteria. We mistakenly thought it was all you can eat. . . It wasnt. We were the first group of people in the cafeteria and we tried to make 5 sandwiches each and stuff our pockets full of fruit and biscuits for the day. We used up all of the cheese and ham which was laid out on individual plates. The ...
Orihuela, Valencia, Spain chris_jones01So Alex had to go back to the consulate in the morning and being true friends me and Olly decided to join him. In the Brittish consulate you basically have about 15 people at any time who have had their passports robbed. During our short stay we spoke to a few fellow British people around us. A particularily funny convosation started with an old british man who was keen to share his words of wisdom, unfortunately, he was not even slightly wise. He started the ...
Alicante, Spain ling-en... when we arrived for our first lesson that the school has put us in a class of our own. This is both good and bad. It means we get a 2:1 student teacher ratio. It also means that Cameron and I have to spend 4 hours in a classroom together trying not to **** each other off. Cameron struggles to read the Spanish words and pronounce the sounds correctly, and I tend to get frustrated listening to this after the first couple of hours. On ...
