... our first day of real rain on Friday. Unpleasant, although it did give us a break from complaining about the afternoon heat. Something had to fill the void.

... We stopped at the first albergue on the route and had a limoada but walked on luckily to the center of pretty Belorado and found the albergue that had given us the water. Burgos - slow start, fast finish.
... it was because of their holiday but we did manage to view all of it with info provided by an audio-guide. When we left the church about 7:30 pm, the sun had gone down as had the temperature and the wind had picked up. Not deterred, the streets were filled with families walking together and going out for dinner. We braced ourselves against the wind and cold and did the same.

Day 13 - Atapuerca to Burgos
... dinner on the first night back in Roncesvalles, had asked them how they had managed to get to the albergue ahead of him. He had passed them at a good speed early in the morning, and had not stopped all day. He asked "bus or taxi?", to which they mumbled and giggled "we are fast walkers!" Those four ladies are getting worse than the Spanish basketball players that played at the para-olympics and had faked medical reports to participate. What is the point? ...
