    Unfortunately, a common assumption by many Spaniards is that we cannot speak Spanish. Our waitress tried to blind side us, and persuade us all to buy their most expensive dish.     ... into a 4 star hotel about 6 today and quickly got changed into my swimming trunks and rushed down to the pool only to find it was closed ! Gutted ! The hotel cost 45 euros and despite the pool closer it was the best so far ,they even had a special room for Derek next to reception . I skyped mummy and wifey then sat in the bar and had a few beers ( well at £1 a pint) It would be rude not to ...

    ... Miguel in there. In sharp contrast was the Casa-Museo de Colón, where we spent a good deal of time looking at the well-presented, interesting and informative exhibits on Christopher Columbus and his voyages. No English, which might be a deterrent to some reading this, but still pretty cool. When one sees such contrast in two museums in such a short time, he wants to sing the praises of the previously unsung Casa-Museo de Colón curator.

    ... but now I'm back to being 9 hours ahead of California.

    This is a pretty short letter, but I will make it up to you in a couple weeks, with all my details on my trip. Some of the things we plan to see are:

    London-Stonehenge, Buckingham Palace, Kensington Palace, London Eye, Windsor Castle, Tower of London, Big Ben, and a museum or two.
    Dublin-St. Stephens Square, O'Connell Street, Guinness Storehouse, Trinity ...
