Just a few metres from the main station. Modern hotel with spacious rooms. Although it is the centre of town we found it very quiet.

Today there is again only one monk, who runs the monastery more as a business, with a farm, horses, restaurant, guest house, vegetable garden and wine cellar. We got to visit the wine cellar during our short visit. Back in the vans it was off to Feldkirch for our last meal together at Schattenberg Castle. We had to have the famous 30 cm schnitzel ...

... experience. Luckily by the time we had finished there the rain had stopped so we decided to get some money before going back to our room. Searching for an ATM added more steps to our day, and we followed up with a trip to the Spar for some provisions for the hike. By the time we got back to our room we were already up to 11 km. Dinner at a Thai Restaurant was interesting, with the waitress speaking only the odd ...

... mothballed since the introduction of the EU. It must have been chaos having passport and customers control at every entry point. It being Monday night and nothing open we decided to dine at the hotel. It offered a fine self-serve salad selection and the waiter, a very helpful Austrian fellow in his late twenties described as best he could the three vegetarian options. Sensing communication hadn't gone ...

A quick trip to Migros (think Coles) for supplies had me looking at a banana case - not as silly as it looks for cyclist who transport a banana in the back of their cycle top - just a tad conspicuous!

Lisa had arranged a 6:00pm booking at Restaurant Drei Bunde having extensively researched all the restaurants and cafes she wished to visit. What a disaster - ...
