Just a few metres from the main station. Modern hotel with spacious rooms. Although it is the centre of town we found it very quiet.

Arriving at Zurich Airport after a 2 hour flight, and bearing hand luggage only, we made swiftly for the station which is right below the airport. We already had tickets in our hand courtesy of STC and we hopped onto a train for Zurich Hauptbahnof straight away. The airport is fairly close to town so less than 20 minutes later we were off the train …

We had a lazy day in Ruggell, we all suffered a little jet lag so we just chilled a bit around the home. For dinner that night we were taken into Austria to a place called Feldkirch. We had to take our passports in case we were stopped at the border crossing. We went to a Castle in the town built over 300 years ago. The children were amazed and surprised on how cold it was. Inside was a restaurant that has been here for a very ...

... any problems, just a couple of places were very sloppy where we slipped a little. We had to pull up on a steep bit, which wasn't ideal. There was a Range Rover one side of the road and a Mini Cooper the other side, both with front end damage, ouch! At the top 7500 ft we pulled in to a parking place, whilst Les de-iced the window wipers I walked Logan. It was bitterly cold, at the side of the car park the snow was about five feet deep. ...

... We eventually made it down - after a few shots of Appenzeller (the Swiss liquor) to keep us warm along the way.

We decided to go to the top via the chair lift to enjoy the fire and have a nice warm bite to eat. Had an amazing dinner - difficult to order again bc of the English but thankfully the young guy was now in the restaurant and helped us order. We knew we had to catch the 10pm bus as it was our last ...

... and caught the train to Chur.

  • It started snowing on the way there, the first snow I had seen in Europe!
  • I walked to my hostel and checked into a 16 bed dorm. There was only 3 people there as it was the off season which I was pretty happy about.
  • A grabbed a kebab for dinner. I had spotted the place while walking to the hostel.
  • Afterwards I sat in the hostel bar and had a couple of beers ...
