Just a few metres from the main station. Modern hotel with spacious rooms. Although it is the centre of town we found it very quiet.

Arriving at Zurich Airport after a 2 hour flight, and bearing hand luggage only, we made swiftly for the station which is right below the airport. And now Emma and I were staying here too... Co-incidences! We found the campsite - this one was a great little one with lovely grounds, a big pool (although it was too late now) and a lovely owner. We picked a site, pitched the tent and headed back out the supermarket down the road. Supplies bought ...

... hiking the surrounding hills and valleys by day and drinking cheap wine by night. Our walks did seem somewhat mundane versus the base jumping that was popular in the area, but one trip down to the starting point scared the poop out of me. Next time. Although whilst tame, the hiking allowed us to gain views of some amazing and truly unforgettable landscapes, and also get pretty sweaty as per photos of said hikes. Everything about ...

    About Mustard and Cheese

The weather is still less than what I had hoped for. Leaving Normandy the plan was to head for Switzerland about 700 km east. But first, south of Normandy is the famous "castle in the sea" Le Mont Saint Michel. Whenever you see France being advertised in posters very often this castle is featured. So South I went and slightly west only to be greeted by another bucket load of rain. I looked ...
