Just a few metres from the main station. Modern hotel with spacious rooms. Although it is the centre of town we found it very quiet.

Arriving at Zurich Airport after a 2 hour flight, and bearing hand luggage only, we made swiftly for the station which is right below the airport. We already had tickets in our hand courtesy of STC and we hopped onto a train for Zurich Hauptbahnof straight away. With the threat of wet weather looming we hurried onto the cable car to whisk us up the hill to the start of the run. Three kms of fast and curving track. It was an absolute adrenalin rush. Plain and poorly lit but still impressive, with lots of "crests" on the walls. Sat in the square after admiring the beautifully decorated Rathaus, built 1377-1877. This was also the birthplace of Albert Einstein, although he left as an infant. Missed seeing "his" fountain. Drove to Friedrichshaven, ...

... about it. We have to seek accommodation a little further out and end up sharing an interconnecting room with four single beds for the very reasonable (not) price of 375 Swiss francs. We have also booked our train route for tomorrow so go online to book accommodation. We are beat as been on the road for a long time today all with so much to take in, my tiny little mind and it's filing cabinet can only take so much wow in one day. The wows are ...

... some will come to a complete stop. On driver slowed down and swerved left, right, left right, not knowing what to do--even though I was a good 3 meters off the road! I guess it relates to the culture of everybody following a strict code of rules. So when someone is doing something against the rules (like a pedestrian walking in a place that's meant for cars) people get really ...
